Anushka, after completing her education in Mumbai, enrolled at Elite Model Management. She was trained by style consultant Prasad Bidapa. Anushka began modelling in 2017 for Wendell Rodricks Les Vamps Show. She was also selected for the spring collection Summer 2007 of Rodricks. Anushka Sharma has been a part with a number of campaigns for brands since her Lakme Fashion Week debut. This includes campaigns in the name of Fiat Palio and Fiat Whisper Nathella Jewelry. Anushka began an acting course and began auditioning for movies in addition to her modelling career. Anushka Sharma was the first actress to film in 2008, with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. She starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan. For her screen test, she was not willing to take an impromptu one and took a day to prepare herself. Later, she signed up for three films in collaboration with Yash Raj Films. She played a role as an unwed bride and tied to a man of middle in age (the persona Shah Rukh Khan was portraying). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka played Shahid Kapoor Meiyang Chang and Vir Das in the film Badmash Company. The movie received mixed praises. In the same year, Anushka Sharma appeared in the film 'Band Baaja Baaraat' alongside Ranveer Singh in an upper-middle class Punjabi girl who starts her own wedding planning business. The film received excellent reviews and was deemed a sleeper to be a success. Anushka was able to complete the three film contract with Yash Raj Films.
